Continuing the occasional feather series, this is a peacock feather from my book Pansy Boy. I wrote and illustrated the book in 2017, it's a fictionalised origin story of The Pansy Project. Much of the details are from my own childhood. On the page (pictured) I illustrate 'Pansy Boy' at a desk adorned with peacock feathers. He is determined to 'find a way to rise above, those that bully shout and shove'.<\/p>

These were the first feathers I loved as a child inspired perhaps my my childhood visits to Kew Gardens where they have several Peacocks in residence. I remember studying them as a child enthralled by their beauty and amused that it was the male bird that was the most glamorous. Something that now seems correct.<\/p>
